About us

Founded in 1892, Thies GmbH & Co. KG has concentrated on the fabrication of high quality machines for yarn and piece dyeing and bleaching and drying equipment.

The Westphalian family business is located in Coesfeld/ Germany and where it operatesstate-of-the-art research and production facilities.

Quality products made by Thies are successfully established in markets for woven and knit fabrics as well as technical textiles.

Thies is represented by a global network of agencies. Besides these agencies, Thies runs their own sales and service locations in China, France, India, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Slovenia, Thailand, Turkey and (the) USA.

The machines comply with individual customer requirements as well as with technical regulations of local authorities. TÜV, ASME, APAVE, DLI certifications are provided accordingly.

Interested parties have the possibilities to undertake trials with their own fabrics and means of production with the newest yarn dyeing and piece dyeing equipment under real operational conditions at the in-house research facility. There, clients are accompanied by practically orientated experts and technologists, who support the optimisation of custom dyeing processes.

iCone

iCone

The iCone yarn dyeing machine represents a significant advancement in textile dyeing technology, designed to optimize the use of resources and enhance efficiency in yarn dyeing processes. The iCone utilizes highly efficient motors, resulting in increased performance while reducing energy consumption.

Newly developed heating coils are strategically placed in the dyeing vessel beneath the material carrier. These coils function as additional liquor displacers, optimizing the dyeing process.

This yarn dyeing machine features an advanced flow reversal system that minimizes pressure losses, ensuring consistent and thorough dyeing. The system allows for the liquor flow to be dynamically optimized, changing direction from inside to outside of the packages and vice versa.

A reduction in the volume of the piping system benefits the liquor ratio, contributing to the machine’s overall efficiency.

Technological Advancements

Resource Optimization: The iCone addresses key cost factors in dyeing, such as the consumption of water, chemicals, dyes, electrical energy, and thermal energy, while also minimizing wastewater production. This leads to significant cost savings and resource conservation.

Flexible Material Treatment: The iCone can handle a variety of materials and fiber configurations, including packages, muffs, warp beams, loose materials, and tops. This versatility makes it suitable for diverse dyeing applications.

Advanced Liquor Circulation System: Based on thorough flow analyses, the iCone's liquor circulation system has been redesigned to optimize the dyeing process. The dynamic flow reversal mechanism ensures thorough penetration and uniform dyeing.

Practical Applications

The iCone is ideal for textile manufacturers seeking to improve dyeing quality, reduce operational costs, and enhance sustainability.

Its ability to handle various materials with high efficiency and lower resource consumption makes it a valuable addition to any modern textile production facility. Whether dealing with delicate fibers or robust yarns, the iCone yarn dyeing machine offers the performance, flexibility, and eco-friendliness required for high-quality and sustainable textile production.

Pressure Dryer RT

Pressure Dryer RT

The Thies Pressure Dryer RT represents the pinnacle of advanced drying technology, specifically developed for the efficient and gentle drying of yarns. This innovative dryer is equipped with intelligent control technology that enables short drying times with high efficiency. The dryer is suitable for drying all yarn qualities, with the yarn bobbins remaining stable and free from deformations.

Precise and reproducible process control prevents over-drying, yellowing of bleached yarns, and migration in dyed yarns. A flow-optimized design of the heat exchangers and piping significantly reduces energy consumption. The manual effort for loading and unloading the drying material is minimal, as the material carriers from the dyeing plant can be directly inserted into the dryer. Manual reloading of the yarn bobbins is not required. The yarn bobbins remain stable and free from deformation during drying. The compact design facilitates the integration of the pressure dryer into existing structures.

A newly developed additional function makes regular cleaning of the pressure dryer considerably more convenient and efficient. The individual process steps, such as filling, heating, and air circulation, run automatically according to a predetermined program.

A specially developed energy-efficient function helps to significantly reduce the consumption of cooling water and steam. The process and cooling water temperatures, as well as the cooling water quantity, are continuously monitored. Frequency-controlled fan drives with motors of the current efficiency class increase the economic efficiency.

Signature S

Signature S

The Signature Series by Thies represents a pioneering innovation in sustainable dyeing technology for the textile industry. This state-of-the-art machine series was developed to integrate functionality, efficiency, and sustainability, offering significantly improved quality in dyeing and finishing.

With groundbreaking innovations in fabric transport, water management, and the dosing of dyes and chemicals, the Signature Series provides measurable solutions to the challenges of wet processing. It maximizes efficiencies and resource savings across all stages of coloring, including pretreatment, dyeing, and finishing.

Of particular note is the Signature Series' ability to conduct nearly all wet treatments in a single machine, providing a significant environmental advantage. This machine successfully processes a wide range of fiber types and fabric structures, including woven fabrics, warp knits, spacers, and circular knits.

Utilizing its ultra-low liquor ratio technology, the Signature Series significantly reduces water and energy consumption while enhancing color consistency and batch times. Advanced dosing technology allows precise chemical dosing, further reducing water usage.

The Signature Series is designed not only for performance and sustainability but also for compatibility with existing processes and systems in dye houses. It seamlessly integrates with existing dosing systems and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and utilizes standard dyes and chemicals.

This innovative technology offers textile manufacturers scalable solutions for today's challenges by drastically reducing the environmental impact of dyeing while minimizing operating costs. Thies' Signature Series thus represents a comprehensive and forward-thinking solution for high-quality, efficient, and sustainable dyeing processes.

iMaster H2O and iMaster F

The machine of the iMaster family incorporate over 50 years of experience with short liquor dyeing technology.

Alongside the versatile iMaster H2O the iMaster F was designed specially for terry fabric. Both models are completed by the correspondending iMaster mini and iMaster mini F versions for smaller scale production.
